Pentametron Twitter's Poetry Engine

The Name is Pentametron.  Its short bio reads” With algorithms subtle and discrete / I seek iambic writings to retweet”. Its profile picture features Shakespeare’s face strategically placed within the twitters default egg shaped picture. Pentametron aims finding inadvertent art in the internet’s endless outpouring of language. Pentametron could read millions of tweets per day (about 500 per second!) in search of the tiny fraction that happen to be in iambic pentameter. Out of those, it selects rhymed couplets and retweets them in an endless crowdsourced sonnet.

Like it? If you want to get more of it you can follow Pentametron at twitter for its live feed or read the collected sonnets at pentametron.com, which is updated several times per hour.
Or you could just have a look at the 5 recent  retweets by the algorithm.

This little algorithm that uses Twitter’s Streaming API was founded by Ranjit Bhatnagar. His Website “moonmilk.com” says that “he is originally from the San Francisco Bay Area, Ranjit received a BA from U.C. Berkeley and an MS from the University of Pennsylvania, and was certified carnie trash by the Coney Island Sideshow School in 2002. He lives in Brooklyn next to a nice big park. He now works with interactive and sound installations, with scanner photography, and with Internet-based collaborative art.” He says that his twitter handle got some nice coverage from the Poetry foundation.

What do you have to say about it? Express your thoughts and queries.
