Galaxy Y Duos GT-S6102 - Review Price Specifications

PRICE: Rs. 9,260/- (Approx :$ 185)

Galaxy Y DuosPROS: The Galaxy Y Duos is a full-touch Android 2.3 Gingerbread setup with a 3.1-inch QVGA screen, a 3-mega pixel fixed-focus camera. It also has a 1,300mAh battery and not to forget that it has the ability to house dual sim.

CONS: Despite having a dual sim feature, it is not dual active. That means when you are on the call on your first sim then your second one is unreachable. This has certainly a low resolution screen. There is no flash in the camera. There is also no front camera for video calling.

BOTTOM LINE: Even though the Galaxy Y duos has little cons. It is certainly a bang for your buck. With a low price of Rs. 9,260/-  . It has found place in the pockets of the common man. I could even refer it as the common man’s smart phone.

Design:

The phone is slightly bigger than the galaxy Y. The 262K TFT monitor provides a decent display with a resolution of 320 X 240. The handset is a slim one with 11.95 mm thickness. The metallic edge and a curvy design are good. It’s slightly stylish. The 8cms full touch screen is bright and could be used for day-to-day activities like watching videos and browsing.

CAMERA AND PROCESSOR:

Design Of Galaxy Y DuosThere is a decent 3 MP rear camera with 2X zoom. But there is a lack of front camera for video calling. The ability to change shot modes and add photo effects adds a little more features to the camera. The 832 MHz Processor creates a speedy environment only for normal operation of the phone but when 8 or more apps installed the phone tends to hang.

MEMORY:

There is a stringent internal memory of only 160 MB, which is hopefully not sufficient enough for many. But there is a micro SD slot which could extend your phone’s memory up to 32 GB. There is also 2 GB Micro SD card provided along with the handset.

The Following is a Video review of the Galaxy Y Duos that I obtained from the YouTube:

Features and Performance:

Side View Of Galaxy Y
I tested the Galaxy Y Duos in India with BSNL’s 3G network. The Call quality was good but was not impressive. The headphones were not up to the mark but that’s the basic problem with all Samsung’s low-end smart phones. I could barely hear the ringtone while in travel that I was forced to turn on vibration. And for the internet it took 10 seconds to load a mobile optimized site and 25 seconds for a graphic rich site with the 3G internet.

APPS:

The preloaded apps kept me socialized good time. With apps like Chat On, and inbuilt Facebook and twitter apps you can stay in touch with your friends. The 3.5 mm audio jack is an added advantage as it can serve you sound in portable speakers as well as your headphones. But the headset provided along with the mobile did not do enough for me. The audio quality were not up to the expectation.

BATTERY:

And not to forget its battery life, the 1300 mAh battery did not last so long. The battery goes down 2 days on average use and lasts up to 20 days on standby (which is pretty much lower than the claimed specs). When used with 3G activated I had go near the charging pin at least twice a day. Charging is also pretty slow, for me it took 3.5 hours to charge it from empty to full.

CONNECTIVITY:

The phone has a high speed Bluetooth 3.0 for transferring files and syncing with PC. The WiFi is also moderately fast in its connectivity but the phone hangs or the WiFi disconnects when in operation. Though there is a provided PC Sync application it imposed some connectivity problems when connecting with my PC. The Galaxy Duos also has GPS facility and dual sim GSM facility (which you know already).

TO CONCLUDE:

The Samsung Galaxy Y Duos GT-S6102 has its own drawbacks, but which phone doesn’t. But for a price of Rs. 9,260/- . With a price as low as that you have a smart phone without burning a hole in your pocket.  The final decision is left for you to buy it or not but we recommend this product. Well what else do you have to say about your phone. Did you decide to buy the phone? Just share with us. If you already own the phone tell us your review.

IPhone 4S Siri vs Samsung Galaxy S3

iPhone 4S Siri vs Samsung Galaxy S3

http://static.applife.vn/2012/05/iPhone-4S-VS-Samsung-Galaxy-S3.jpg

As you look above the screen of the iPhone is very small when compared next to the Samsung Galaxy S3. The iPhone may have it’s ‘Retina Display’, but the high resolution of the SGS3 spread over 4.8inches is even more lovely to look at. Apple should understand that big screens are what the people want now.

ABOUT CAMERA:

While the camera in the SGS3 may not appear to be much better than the iPhone 4S’ camera megapixel wise  there are a few features thrown in with it that certainly make it a few steps better. The first is Burst Shot . The phone captures images at a rate of 3.3/second and then chooses the best picture of a set for you. The second is the Zero Shutter lag feature quick snaps! The last, and my personal favorite, is the ability to identify people within your photos and be able to easily send them a copy. It’s a great idea, and sharing is something that the Samsung has baked into every aspect of what is contained within the S3.
But the camera on the SGS3 takes 8 to 24 shots at the same time.so,we can take pictures easily and we
can select the best pictures from that 8 to 24 shots and we can save it up.so i assure that you wont miss
the memorable moments and the best pictures too.
Overall finally, the i phone 4s- the King of all Phones looks better than the Samsung galaxy s3 in
camera.

iPhone 4S Siri vs Samsung Galaxy S3 s voice:

Apple's siri, introduced as the big new feature in the i phone, is facing its biggest competitor to date in Samsung's S voice an extremely similar voice-activated mobile assistant that will make its retail debut with the Galaxy s3early next week. In anticipation of that time, I've brought the two together for a side-by-side comparison to determine which performs better at the daily tasks one might wish to entrust to a robot-voiced virtual assistant.

The first thing to say is that neither Siri nor S Voice is particularly good. Both demand that you enunciate studiously if you care to have your query recognized, and even then some hilarious misinterpretations can and do occur. That's a big stumbling block for any piece of software that aims to streamline your user experience with a smartphone -if you have to repeat or correct yourself, you might as well use more conventional means to achieve your goal. Similarly, both Siri and S Voice have a tendency to rely on external search engines for their results, sometimes integrating them in stub form within the app and sometimes throwing you out to a Google search. S Voice does the latter quite a bit more often than Siri does.
In terms of speed, Siri has a distinct advantage over S Voice. It consistently provides an answer ahead of its Samsung competitor. On the other hand, S Voice can actually perform geographical searches whereas Siri seems to think everything I search for is within the UK and refuses to try and help with locational queries. Siri is also a lot more vocal than Samsung's application. The majority of queries sent to the iPhone are greeted with an aural affirmation of some sort, whereas S Voice tends to provide results quietly and also includes the option to turn off audio responses altogether. Which of the two approaches you prefer will be a matter of personal preference.
Siri is faster, S Voice can do more, but neither is really good enough.
